General Description:
Classic line dances and dances of exceptional merit taught by Palo Alto’s Hedy McAdams, award winning and world-renowned choreographer and teacher.  ("Classics" are dances so well-choreographed that they continue to be taught and danced at line dance venues locally and around the world!)

For active adults of all ages, class features music from Swing, C/W (Country Western), Latin, Ballroom, and Zydeco traditions and forms.  An outrageously fun way to stay in shape, make new friends, and energize mind, body, and spirit.

Two line dance skill levels are offered, as well as basic couples’ technique, which is available for both beginning and intermediate line dancers. The basic couples’ technique section is an opportunity for dancers from both classes to interact and socialize with each other, while broadening their range of dance skills when visiting one of the many local dance venues on weekends.

Sec. A ~ Basics/Beginning Line Dance Plus Basic Couples Technique:

This section focuses on beginners as well as experienced dancers who want to review or warm-up for intermediate class. Great for absolute beginners who are looking for a pleasurable way to build motor-skill coordination (balance, flexibility, strength and endurance) and memory skills, as well as for returning students who want to review or refresh basic technique and patterns. This section features easier dances taught at a more leisurely pace, with Hedy's precise style. Practice between classes is helpful, but not mandatory. The line dance portion of this class is from 6:45 to 7:30 p.m. The Basic Couples Technique portion is from 7:30 to 8:00 p.m. Stay for both or choose just one!

Sec. B ~ Intermediate Line Dance Plus Basic Couples Technique:

Focuses on dancers who want more challenge, attention to styling, and more intense mind/body workout. Skill level: for line dancers who have completed at least one beginning class, or by permission of instructor. This section features more complex line dance classics taught at a faster pace, with continued attention to styling details. Practice between classes is highly recommended. The line dance portion of this class will begin at 8:00 p.m., after the basic couples portion of the class. The basic couples technique portion of this class begins at 7:30 p.m. Stay for both or choose just one! Note that basic couples technique is especially recommended for intermediate line dancers who want to enhance line dance skills as well as become more versatile dancers at local dance parties and events.

Sec. C ~ Two Sections

Beginning (Sec. A) and Intermediate (Sec. B).  Take a second section at a reduced cost!
